6. Description of content

The MOPH Notification No. 157 (B.E. 2537 (1994)) regarding food labelling on item 11.12.19(a) shall be repealed and replaced by this provision: "(a) the content of what should be necessarily informed: The best food for infants is maternal milk owing to its full nutritional content; Filled milk for infants should be recommended by a physician, nurse or nutritionist; Preparing uncompositional content will harm infants". These three items shall be presented in vertical order as stated within a single frame, letter colour in contrast with background, and the first item shall be clearly legible and in bold letters. Producer and importer, having registered this type of food, shall submit its correction within one hundred and eighty (180) days upon the effective date of this notification and the current label shall be valid no longer than one (1) year.
Le point 11.12.19.a) de la notification du MOPH n° 157 de 2537 È.B. (1994) concernant l'étiquetage des produits alimentaires est supprimé et remplacé par la disposition suivante (traduction): a) teneur des indications devant obligatoirement apparaître: Le meilleur aliment pour les nourrissons est le lait maternel car il est nutritionnellement complet; Le lait compensé pour nourrissons devrait être recommandé par un médecin, un infirmier ou un nutritionniste; Toute préparation non conforme aux normes de composition est nocive pour les nourrissons. Ces trois indications doivent être présentées verticalement comme indiqué à l'intérieur d'un même encadré, en caractères d'une couleur contrastant avec le fond; la première devra être clairement lisible et en caractères gras. Les producteurs et les importateurs ayant enregistré ce type d'aliment devront soumettre leur rectification dans un délai de cent quatre-vingts (180) jours à compter de la date de prise d'effet de la notification; l'étiquette actuelle restera valable pendant une durée n'excédant pas un (1) an
En la Notificación Nº 157 [E. B. 2537 (1994)] se elimina el punto 11.12.19.(a), relativo al etiquetado, y se reemplaza por la siguiente disposición: "a) es obligatorio que figure la siguiente información sobre el contenido: el mejor alimento para lactantes es la leche materna, por su contenido nutricional completo; la leche reforzada para lactantes debe ser recomendada por un médico, practicante o nutricionista; las preparaciones cuyo contenido no esté autorizado pueden perjudicar al lactante." Estas tres prescripciones deben presentarse reunidas dentro de un único recuadro, en letras de color contrastante con el del fondo; la primera de ellas será claramente legible e irá en negrita." Los productores e importadores que hayan registrado este tipo de productos alimenticios presentarán la corrección del etiquetado en el plazo de los ciento ochenta (180) días posteriores a la fecha de entrada en vigor de la Notificación, y el etiquetado vigente tendrá validez durante un (1) año.
