Description of content
The mentioned draft Resolution approves the new Order of labelling of food products containing genetically modified organisms and also withdraws the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as of 13 May 2009 No. 468. ;
It is defined in the new Order that the food products containing genetically modified organisms should be considered those products, which whole or its components contain more than 0.1% of organisms. ;
According to the new requirements the food products in which GMO exceed 0.1% should be marked “With GMO” and those food products which contain less than 0.1% GMO should be marked as “Without GMO”. ;
Le projet de décision notifié a pour objet d'approuver le nouveau décret relatif à l'étiquetage des denrées alimentaires contenant des organismes génétiquement modifiés et d'abroger la décision n° 468 du Cabinet des Ministres de l'Ukraine du 13 mai 2009. Le nouveau décret définit les produits alimentaires contenant des organismes génétiquement modifiés comme les produits qui contiennent, ou dont les ingrédients contiennent, plus de 0,1% d'OGM. En vertu des nouvelles prescriptions, les produits alimentaires contenant plus de 0,1% d'OGM devraient porter la mention "Avec OGM" et les produits alimentaires contenant moins de 0,1% d'OGM devraient porter la mention "Sans OGM".
El proyecto notificado de Resolución aprueba la nueva Orden relativa al etiquetado de los productos alimenticios que contengan organismos modificados genéticamente, a la vez que deroga la Resolución Nº 468 del Consejo de Ministros de Ucrania, de fecha 13 de mayo de 2009. En la nueva Orden se establece que por productos alimenticios que contengan OMG se entenderán todos los que estén constituido por esos organismos o los contengan en más del 0,1 por ciento. En virtud de las nuevas prescripciones, en el etiquetado de los productos alimenticios en los que los OMG constituyan más del 0,1 por ciento del total figurará la advertencia "contiene OMG"; en los productos alimenticios en los que el porcentaje de OMG sea inferior o igual al 0,1 por ciento, figurará la advertencia "no contiene OMG".

This regulatory act is prepared taking into account the Law of Ukraine of 17.12.2009 No.1779-VI “On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine as to providing information on content of genetically modified components in the products” and the Law of Ukraine of 17.12.2009 No.1778-VI “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On safety and quality of food products” as to informing of citizens on presence of genetically modified organisms in food products”. ;
