The draft ministerial regulation mandates plastic bags for food to conform with the standard for Plastic Bags for Food (TIS 1027-2564(2021)).
This standard covers plastic bags for food made of virgin resin. It classifies plastic bags by the application into 3 types, i.e. for hot, cold and frozen food. It also specifies shapes, width, length, thickness. This standard prescribes requirements for appearance, tensile strength, elongation, temperature resistance, seam strength, leakage, safety requirements (e.g. overall migration and specific migration, substances in material, etc.). It also includes packaging, marking, labelling, sampling and criteria for conformity and testing.
