All the additional notified products also when sold in the domestic market shall comply with the safety standard specified in the schedule to the Order.

"Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012" notified by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology. Previous notification in WTO – G/TBT/N/IND/44

India had notified the "Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012" herein called the "Order" to the WTO with Notification G/TBT/N/IND/44 dated 19 October 2012. The Order prescribes safety standards for the notified products when sold in the domestic market. 

As indicated in Addendum 1 to the original notification, the date of entry into force of the Order is 3 July 2013 with manufacturing units subject to specified conditions provided an additional period of three months i.e. up to 3 October 2013 for the entry into force of this Order.

This is to inform Members that India has published and made the following amendments/circulars/notifications to its “Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements of Compulsory Registration) Order 2012”:

i)               “Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Amendment Order, 2013 dated 25.6.2013

ii)             “Extension in date of coming into effect of the “Electronics and IT Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” for Goods under testing with BIS Recognized Labs” dated 2.7.2013

iii)            “Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) (Second Amendment) Order, 2013” dated 11.9.2013

iv)           Notification concerning the Implementation of “Electronics and IT Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012 dated 30.9.2013

v)            Circular 1 of 2013 – Clarifications on compliance to the “Electronics and IT Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012 dated 29.5.2013

vi)           Circular 2 of 2013 – Clarifications on compliance to the “Electronics and IT Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” dated 12.9.2013

vii)          Circular 3 of 013 – Extension in date of coming into effect of the “Electronics and IT Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” dated 23.8.13

India had notified the "Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012" herein called the "Order" to the WTO with Notification G/TBT/N/IND/44 dated 19 October 2012. The date of entry of force of this Order for manufacturing units subject to specific conditions has now been further extended for three months by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITY) with its notification No 37(1)/2013-IPHW dated 30 September 2013.

As on 3 October, 2013, the number of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) recognised laboratories for conducting tests on specified electronic and IT products under the aforesaid Order is 11.

India had notified the "Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012" to the WTO with Notification G/TBT/N/IND/44.

This is inform Members that with communication dated 17 December 2015 of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (copy enclosed), an amendments has been carried out in the aforesaid Order concerning new manufacturing location for manufacturers that are already registered under the Compulsory Registration Scheme.

India had notified the "Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012" to the WTO with Notification G/TBT/N/IND/44.

This is inform Members that with communication dated 10 February 2016 of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (copy enclosed), an amendment has been carried out in the aforesaid Order concerning the matter of affixing of the ?Standard Mark? on the imported goods.

India had notified addition of 15 products to the Schedule of the “Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” to the WTO with Notification G/TBT/N/IND/47.

This is to inform Members that vide communications dated 7^th Aug 2015 and 13^th August 2015 of the Department of Electronics & Information Technology (copy enclosed), India has extended the date of implementation of the Order for select products, as specified in these communications.

India had notified addition of 15 products to the Schedule of the "Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012" to the WTO with Notification G/TBT/N/IND/47.

This is to inform Members that with communication dated 30 November 2015 of the Department of Electronics & Information Technology (copy enclosed), India has extended the date of implementation of the Order for select products, as specified in this communication.

India had notified addition of 15 products to the Schedule of the "Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012" to the WTO with Notification G/TBT/N/IND/47.

This is to inform Members that Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has issued circular 1 of 2016 regarding the "Implementation of clarification on server/storage power supplies" wherein the implementation of clarification issued vide FAQ no. 42 (Part II) is postponed up-to 31 December 2016. Accordingly, the power supplies for server/storage devices shall stand covered under the "Electronics and IT Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012" w.e.f. 1 January 2017.
