The EAS specifies quality specification for quality requirements for various products and methods of test for conformity assessment. The development of the EAS is geared towards harmonizing the regulatory provision of quality of products and services in East African region. This move will eliminate non-tariff barriers to trade when goods and services are traded within the region.
