The Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) has proposed draft Notification of the Committee on Labels No.
(B.E.
): Electric mosquito swatter required labelling control, including definition of Electric mosquito swatter and label contents as follows:
· Electric mosquito swatter" means electric shock device for killing mosquito, using battery power, having steel mesh mat and a handle.
· Electric mosquito swatter required labelling control must comply with Clause 1 to Clause 3 of the Notification of the Committee on Labels: Characteristics of Labels Subject to the Labelling Control B.E. 2541(1998) dated 23 September B.E. 2541(1998), and the label must contain the following information:
1. Instruction for use must at least specify "Products should be cleaned with dry brush, and do not use water".
2. Warning statements must at least specify "Keep out of reach ofchildren, while charging keep away from flammable materials, and do not use near flammable substances".The font size shall not be less than 3 mmand contrast colour with the background. The warning shall be displayed permanently and legibly on the product and package.
