This Tanzania Standard specifies permissible limits for food additives, toxins, and contaminants including heavy metals, pathogenic microorganisms, pesticide residues, and veterinary drug residues in foods. This general standard applies to all foods intended for direct human consumption and further processing in particular where there is no a specific product standard or the specific product standard doesn’t specify the limits

La norme tanzanienne notifiée établit les limites admissibles pour les additifs alimentaires, les toxines et les contaminants, y compris les métaux lourds, les micro-organismes pathogènes, les résidus de pesticides et les résidus de médicaments vétérinaires dans les denrées alimentaires. Le texte s'applique à tous les produits alimentaires destinées à la consommation humaine directe et à une transformation ultérieure, notamment dans les cas où il n'existe pas une norme de produit spécifique ou que la norme de produit spécifique ne spécifie pas de limites.
En la Norma de Tanzanía notificada se especifican los límites autorizados de aditivos alimentarios, toxinas y contaminantes en los productos alimenticios, incluidos los metales pesados, los microorganismos patógenos, los residuos de plaguicidas y los residuos de medicamentos veterinarios en los alimentos. La Norma general notificada abarca todos los productos alimenticios destinados al consumo humano directo y a la elaboración ulterior, en particular cuando la norma de producto específica no establece los límites o cuando dicha norma no existe.
